Refrigerated & Frozen Food Packaging
Refrigerated & Frozen Food Packaging Solutions
Durable, temperature-resistant packaging solutions designed to protect freshness, nutritional value, and product quality throughout refrigerated and frozen storage.
Packaging Materials Built for Cold Applications
Proper packaging is essential for refrigerated and frozen foods, helping products maintain their taste, freshness, nutritional value, and overall quality throughout storage and distribution. Point Five Packaging offers a wide range of materials that combine temperature resistance, barrier protection, functionality, and product presentation.
A-PET Trays & Containers
High-barrier A-PET provides excellent transparency for crystal-clear presentation of chilled and room-temperature products. Available in standard and custom designs, A-PET withstands temperatures from approximately 0°F to 120°F and is commonly used for dips, sandwiches, deli salads, produce, baked goods, and other refrigerated foods.
Polypropylene (PP) Containers
PP containers are available for freezer- and microwave-safe applications, making them well suited for heat-and-eat products, deep freezing, and shelf-life extension. High-barrier EVOH/PP and soft copolymer options are available to help prevent cracking in extreme cold. Depending on the material, options can withstand temperatures as low as -40°F and as high as 257°F. Applications include soups, seafood, poultry, meat, dips, and frozen foods.
C-PET Trays & Containers
High-barrier C-PET is designed for applications requiring both extreme cold and high heat. These trays are freezer, microwave, and oven safe, allowing products to be cooked, packaged, stored, and reheated in the same container. C-PET withstands temperatures from approximately -40°F to 400°F and is commonly used for frozen foods, meats, pizzas, soups, cheeses, and ready-made meals.
Additional packaging options include:
- Coated paperboard sleeves
- VSP boards
- Lidding films
- High-barrier thermoforming films
- Aluminum packaging
- Flexible bags and pouches
- Custom packaging formats
Protect Products From Packaging to Reheating
Point Five Packaging’s refrigerated and frozen food solutions are designed to perform throughout the product lifecycle, from filling and sealing through cold storage and final preparation.
Our materials offer excellent heat sealability across plain sealing, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), and Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP) applications. Temperature-resistant materials such as C-PET and PP provide the thermal stability needed for refrigerated, deep-freeze, microwave, and oven applications.
Depending on the application, a single packaging format can be used throughout production, storage, and reheating, reducing the need for additional cartons or wraps. Smooth material surfaces also support consistent printing and branding.
Additional packaging benefits include:
- Protection against discoloration and spoilage
- Resistance to grease, oil, and moisture
- Strong construction for storage and transportation
- Resistance to cracking and brittleness at low temperatures
- Easy filling, sealing, and storage
- FDA-compliant food-contact materials
Point Five Packaging also provides equipment to improve refrigerated and frozen food production. Volumetric filling systems can automate the addition of sauces, soups, and other ingredients, while multi-head weighing systems can be integrated to increase production efficiency for frozen fruits, vegetables, and other portioned products.
With a broad selection of materials, packaging technologies, and equipment, Point Five Packaging can develop refrigerated and frozen food packaging solutions around specific temperature requirements, products, and production environments.
